Glasgow Corner Sofa Bed Sizes: Mini, Standard or Long?

The Glasgow is one of the most popular corner sofa beds we sell at Sofa Bargain, and it comes in three sizes: the Glasgow Mini, the standard Glasgow and the Glasgow Long. All three share the same look and the same idea, a corner sofa that pulls out into a bed and hides your bedding in the chaise. The big difference is how much floor they need. This guide compares the three sizes side by side, so you can work out which one fits your living room and the way you use it.
What every Glasgow has in common
Before looking at sizes, it helps to know what stays the same across the range. According to the product pages, every Glasgow corner sofa bed has:
- A pull-out sofa bed: the seat pulls forward to make a sleeping area for overnight guests.
- Hidden bedlinen storage: a storage compartment inside the chaise for bedding, blankets and pillows.
- Adjustable headrests: so you can sit more upright or lean back to relax.
- Supportive seating: heavy-duty continuous springs with resilient T30 foam.
- The same styling: wide armrests, subtle tufting and stitching, gently rounded sides and raised metal legs.
- Free delivery and assembly: delivered and put together in the room of your choice.
So whichever size you choose, you are not giving up the bed or the storage. You are choosing how big a footprint you want.
The three sizes side by side
Here are the main measurements taken from each product page. All sizes are approximate.
- Glasgow Mini: 230 cm wide and 170 cm deep, with a sleeping area of about 123 x 195 cm and two adjustable headrests.
- Glasgow (standard): 272 cm wide, 203 cm deep and 85 cm high, with a sleeping area of about 123 x 210 cm and three adjustable headrests.
- Glasgow Long: 345 cm wide, 203 cm deep and 90 cm high, with a sleeping area of about 125 x 195 cm and three adjustable headrests.
One detail is worth pointing out. The longest sofa does not have the longest bed. The standard Glasgow has the longest sleeping area of the three at about 210 cm, while the Mini and the Long both open to about 195 cm. If you have tall guests who stay over often, that extra length on the standard model could matter more than the size of the sofa itself.
Glasgow Mini: for smaller living rooms and flats
The Glasgow Mini Corner Sofa Bed with Storage brings the Glasgow design into a 230 x 170 cm footprint. That makes it the one to look at if you live in a flat, a terraced house with a narrow front room, or anywhere floor space is tight. You still get the pull-out bed, the chaise storage and two adjustable headrests.
The Mini suits you if:
- your living room is on the small side, or the sofa has to share space with a dining table or desk
- you want a corner sofa bed for a spare room or home office
- you mostly seat two or three people day to day
One thing to note: the Mini product page says that any video showing the standard Glasgow is only there to show the features and design, so always use the Mini's own measurements when you check it against your room. You can see all the colours in the Glasgow Mini Corner Sofa Bed Collection.
Glasgow standard: the all-rounder
The Glasgow Corner Sofa Bed with Storage, pictured at the top of this article, measures 272 x 203 cm. It is big enough for a family to sit together comfortably, but it will still fit in many average UK living rooms. It has three adjustable headrests and, as mentioned above, the longest sleeping area in the range at about 123 x 210 cm.
The standard Glasgow suits you if:
- you have a medium or large living room
- the sofa is used every day by a family of three to five
- you have guests to stay fairly often and want the most bed length

Glasgow Long: a statement piece for big rooms
At 345 x 203 cm, the Glasgow Long Corner Sofa Bed with Storage is the largest of the three. The extra width gives you more room to stretch out, which makes it a good centrepiece for open-plan living spaces, large family rooms and homes where you often have people round. It keeps the three adjustable headrests, the chaise storage and the pull-out bed, which opens to about 125 x 195 cm.
The Glasgow Long suits you if:
- you have a long wall or an open-plan space that a smaller sofa would look lost in
- you regularly seat the whole family or entertain friends
- you want plenty of space to lie down and watch a film

How to choose the right size
Measure the room, then the bed
Start with the walls the sofa will sit against. Then remember that a sofa bed needs extra floor in front of it when it is pulled out. Mark the closed size and the open size on the floor with masking tape and check you can still open doors and walk around it. Our guide on what size corner sofa you need explains this step by step.
Check the depth as well as the width
People often focus on width, but depth matters just as much with a corner sofa. The Mini is 170 cm deep, while the standard and Long models are both 203 cm deep. In a narrow room, that 33 cm can be the difference between a comfortable walkway and a squeeze.
Pick the right corner
Glasgow sofas are listed as left or right corner versions, and the product title, options and photos show which way each one faces. Getting this wrong is one of the most common mistakes with corner sofas, so read our guide to left hand vs right hand corner sofas before you order.
Plan the route in
A corner sofa is a big item, so it is worth measuring doorways, hallways and stair turns before delivery day. Our guide on how to measure access before delivery shows you what to check.
Think about who sleeps on it
All three Glasgow beds are around 123 to 125 cm wide. If couples will use the bed regularly, have a look at our article on whether couples can use sofa beds to see what to expect.
Make the most of the storage
The chaise storage is the easiest place to keep a duvet, pillows and spare sheets so the bed is ready in minutes. Our guide on how to use sofa storage has more ideas.
Colours and delivery
Each Glasgow size comes in a range of fabrics and colours. Colours can look slightly different depending on lighting and your screen, so contact us if you need help matching a shade. At the time of writing, the Glasgow sofas show as pre-order on their product pages, with free delivery and assembly. Delivery times can change, so always check the delivery information on the product page before you order.
The bottom line
Choose the Glasgow Mini if space is tight, the standard Glasgow if you want the best balance of seating and bed length, and the Glasgow Long if you have a large room and want a sofa that makes a statement. Whichever you pick, you get the same pull-out bed, hidden storage and adjustable headrests. Compare more options in our Corner Sofa Beds With Storage range.
